Job summary

Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority seeks a SIP Technician to provide direct care and crisis intervention across multiple sites. You will monitor electronic systems, respond to auditory cues, and support individuals in home and community settings.

Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential. You will follow service plans, maintain case records, and adhere to emergency procedures while engaging with staff and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities is desirable.
• Lived experience with mental illness, IDD, or substance use disorders is valued.

Responsibilities

• Responds to individuals' needs verbally, in person, or by arranging for the appropriate response.
• Operates electronic monitoring systems, ensuring each system works properly.
• Monitors incoming auditory cues for indication that support or intervention is needed.
• Pays special attention to needs identified in service plans and potential emergency situations through system or in person.
• Nurtures, comforts, and assures opportunity for communication via monitoring systems.
• Demonstrates effective case recording per Person Centered Planning and NeMCMHA guidelines.
• Follows emergency procedures; remains calm under pressure when handling crises.
• Familiarity with geographic area.
• Interacts with individuals served and redirects as necessary.
• Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions and emergency protocol.
