Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority (NeMCMHA) is hiring a Direct Support Professional / SIP Worker in Michigan. You will provide hands-on support, teach essential life skills, and empower individuals to live independently and thrive in their communities.

You’ll assist with daily living, community access, and safe medication support while documenting services and maintaining compliance with agency standards. A rewarding, team-based role awaits you.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities desirable; lived experience valued.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care and daily living activities.
• Teach skills for home maintenance, meal planning, shopping, and nutritious meals.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, appointments, and social activities.
• Provide safe and accurate medication assistance and physical support using assistive devices.
• Encourage independence and help individuals build natural supports and community friendships.
• Accurately document services and maintain compliance with agency standards.
