Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer II - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer to join a close-knit team developing physics-based modeling solutions for DoD Space. You will build C++ models, tackle EO/IR/RF challenges, and contribute to energy transport simulations.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, use of UNIX/Linux, MATLAB/Python evaluation, and on-site work with opportunities to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM field with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with object-oriented C++, and MATLAB or Python to evaluate data sets.
• UNIX/Linux, macOS or Windows command line experience.
• Experience in electro-optics or radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics in software implementations.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize software and physics problems.
• Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.
• Work across programming languages and build environments to improve our product.
