Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer II - Signal and Sensor Modeling to create physics-based modeling solutions in the DoD Space domain. You will work on EO/IR/RF modeling, develop software in C++, and contribute to AI algorithm testing and hardware integration.

You will join a close-knit team, deploy cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate across engineering disciplines. This onsite Tucson role emphasizes modeling, simulation, and rapid problem-solving within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design in C++, C, and MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows command line.
• Experience in EO/RF imaging, radar physics, signal processing or related.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling techniques for advanced EO/RF solutions.
• Develop new C++ models in extensible, maintainable form.
• Apply EO/RF phenomenology and physics in software implementations.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling software.
• Collaborate across teams to prioritize and solve software/physics problems.
• Mentor teammates with EO/RF expertise.
• Coordinate with multiple development teams.
