Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer to develop physics-based modeling solutions for DoD Space programs. You will build new C++ models, deploy EO/RF phenomenology, and collaborate across teams to deliver advanced software capable of supporting AI algorithms and hardware testing.

This onsite role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, UNIX/Linux and MATLAB/Python data evaluation, and the ability to obtain an Interim Secret

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design in C++/C and data evaluation in MATLAB or Python.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux, Windows, or macOS command line environments.
• Experience in electro-optics or radar processing, EO/IR/RF systems, or related signal processing.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling techniques for DoD Space applications.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Apply EO/RF phenomenology and physics principles in software.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Collaborate across teams and manage build environments.

• Mentor teammates with EO/RF expertise.
