Job summary

Urban Sign Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own projects from handoff to final install.

You will manage a portfolio of new installation and service projects, coordinating surveys, approvals, and permitting while partnering with Account Managers and serving as the primary contact for clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of project management experience. Signage industry experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with sign types, fabrication methods, installation practices, and permitting is a strong plus.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, site plans, or technical drawings.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of projects in a deadline-driven environment without letting details slip.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, ideally across multiple states or markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients, landlords, and municipalities.
• Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and project management software. Experience with ERP or CRM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple signage projects from kickoff to closeout, with full accountability for scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate site surveys, shop drawings, and client approvals to keep projects moving into production.
• Manage the permitting process, including code research, permit applications, variance requests, and landlord approvals.
• Source, schedule, and manage installation subcontractors and vendors across multiple markets.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and scopes of work to protect project margins, and hold vendors accountable for quality and timelines.
• Coordinate with fabrication and production to ensure accurate builds and on-time delivery.
• Track project costs and profitability, flagging change orders and margin risks early and taking corrective action when needed.
• Lead client calls and status meetings, providing proactive updates and resolving issues before they escalate.
• Manage multi-site rollout programs for national and franchise clients.
• Handle service work requests, including scheduling and dispatching technicians.
• Identify gaps in our processes and recommend improvements to how we deliver projects.
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior project managers and coordinators.
• Use project management software and internal tools to keep timelines, documentation, and deliverables current.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing operations team. This role is for someone who can take full ownership of projects from handoff through final install. Sign industry experience is strongly preferred, but we're open to proven project managers who can learn the business quickly.
