Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. seeks a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide high quality interpreting via video in a call center and on-site at customer locations as needed.

Fluency in American Sign Language and spoken English, accurate interpreting and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct are required. Guaranteed 36 hours per week, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid holidays, PTO, disability and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English.
• Accurate interpretation skills.
• Good understanding of Deaf culture.
• Adherence to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years of interpreting experience (preferred).
• State licensure or credentials as applicable.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide video relay service, video remote interpreting, and onsite interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company's mission and values.
• Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and FCC regulations.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and tools.
• Multi-task between interpreting and video-based technology.
• Participate in professional development trainings.
• Meet performance expectations with minimal supervision.
• Travel to customer locations when required; valid license and insurance.
