Job summary

ASML US is seeking a PLC Engineer to design and integrate PLC-based control systems for EUV lithography platforms. You will work with software, electrical, and system engineers to deliver reliable automation solutions that meet stringent performance, quality, and schedule targets.

The role requires strong Siemens PLC experience, proficiency in TIA Portal and SIMIT, and hands-on validation of control systems. The position is on-site in San Diego with potential hybrid flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing PLC-based automation and control systems.
• Experience programming Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal, PLCSIM, HMI, and related Siemens tools.
• Experience with Siemens SIMIT simulation platform and PLC validation methodologies.
• Proficiency with LAD, SCL, FBD, and STL programming languages.
• Experience implementing PID control loops and serial communications.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to define system requirements.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic systems at module and system level.
• Experience with PLC test benches, digital twins, and design validation.

Responsibilities

• Design software and firmware for Siemens PLC systems meeting requirements and schedules.
• Define system specifications and translate requirements into robust control solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for timely delivery of reliable products.
• Evaluate hardware architectures and components for high-precision systems.
• Promote best practices in PLC design and automation methodologies.
• Develop and maintain PLC test benches and simulation environments.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, validation, and qualification activities.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and adoption of new technologies.
• Provide project status updates and technical documentation to leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
