Job summary
Siemens is seeking a Senior Building Automation Design Engineer – PLC & Industrial Controls to lead advanced control system design for data centers, pharma facilities, laboratories, and other mission-critical environments. You will develop PLC-based strategies, create drawings, BOMs, and commissioning documentation to meet customer requirements and performance goals.
This hybrid role supports across the United States with up to 25% travel.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in building automation, HVAC or PLC control design.
- Lead design of complex automation projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Visio and control documentation.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- US work authorization without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of building automation and PLC-based controls.
- Translate project requirements into complete control system designs.
- Develop control strategies and sequencing of operation.
- Create drawings, panel layouts, BOMs, and network architecture.
- Coordinate with programmers, project managers, and technicians.
- Perform design reviews, QA checks, and risk assessments.
