Job summary

vTek Systems Inc is seeking a Controls Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Siemens automation systems and TIA Portal. You will program PLCs, develop HMIs, troubleshoot, commission, and support automated manufacturing systems.

Key duties include configuring S7-1200/1500 PLCs, programming with LAD/FBD/SCL, designing Siemens HMI, and integrating PROFINET/PROFIBUS networks. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth startup and FAT/SAT

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering / Industrial Automation
• Hands-on Siemens TIA Portal experience
• Proficiency with Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500 PLCs
• PLC programming using LAD, FBD, SCL
• Experience developing and troubleshooting Siemens HMI
• Experience with PROFINET / PROFIBUS communications
• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting, I/O checkout, and system debugging
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives, sensors, motors
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings
• Ability to troubleshoot controls in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC programs using TIA Portal
• Configure and program S7-1200/S7-1500 PLCs
• Develop and modify HMI screens and controls
• Perform PLC/HMI debugging and system integration
• Configure and troubleshoot PROFINET/PROFIBUS networks
• Perform I/O validation, commissioning, and startup activities
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and other automation equipment
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and equipment validation
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
• Work with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve automation issues
• Provide onsite support during equipment installation, startup, and production
