Job summary

ASML US, LLC in San Diego seeks a Senior Controls/Automation Engineer to lead the design and optimization of control systems for the EUV source. You will model, test, and verify complex algorithms, mentor junior engineers, and drive system-level specifications across programs.

The role requires deep experience in control theory, signal processing and lab/cleanroom testing, with strong communication skills and a track record of delivering production-ready automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Controls, Mechanical, Computer, Chemical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or Physics; Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert for control/optimization/calibration subsystems.
• Perform feasibility studies and advise on product roadmaps and specifications.
• Monitor system architecture during development and coordinate testing and design verification.
• Coordinate testing in lab and cleanroom environments.
• Define and design system architectures ensuring product commonality across programs.
• Plan and manage assigned projects per guidelines.
• Communicate specifications across teams to enable informed decisions.
• Lead and mentor junior controls engineers in algorithm development.
• Develop and integrate innovative control system solutions for stable EUV production.
• Document work results with requirements, specifications and procedures.
