Job summary

Firethorne Technology Services is growing its cybersecurity practice and seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst to support SIEM monitoring, MDR, and security operations for Houston-area clients. You’ll monitor alerts, investigate incidents, tune rules, and assist with assessments and remediation while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Ideal candidates have hands-on SIEM experience (Sentinel, Splunk), knowledge of threat detection and incident response fundamentals, and strong communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a SOC, MSSP, or cybersecurity analyst role.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or similar).
• Understanding of common attack techniques, threat detection, and incident response fundamentals.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM platforms for security alerts and investigate incidents across client environments.
• Support MDR service delivery, including triage, escalation, and remediation guidance.
• Tune detection rules and reduce false positives in partnership with the broader security team.
• Assist clients with security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance documentation.
• Support incident response activities, including containment and root-cause analysis.
• Document findings and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
