Job summary

MSSP is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to protect client assets and systems. You will apply expertise across firewalls, VPNs, SIEM/EDR/XDR, and cloud security solutions, while leading from a subject-matter standpoint and collaborating with the security team to mitigate threats.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years in incident detection and response, with certification options like CISSP or CISM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related field.
• Experience as SME and last point of resolution before vendor escalation.
• 2+ years in incident detection, response, forensics, and cyber security assessments.
• Experience with Cloud/SaaS/Networking security solutions (MDR, Next Gen Firewalls, SIEM, SOAR, Cloud Security)
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, PowerShell)
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures.
• Troubleshoot security challenges and respond to breaches.
• Ensure data/infrastructure protection with appropriate controls.
• Participate in change/configuration management.
• Test network/system vulnerabilities and report findings.
• Daily administrative tasks and inter-department communication.
• Research weaknesses and countermeasures; develop best practices.
• Utilize SIEM/SOAR/XDR/EDR and emerging tools to monitor events.
