Job summary

Critical Start, Inc. in Plano, TX is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Managed Security Services team. You will monitor and maintain SIEM environments, onboard security technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk, and tailor solutions for client environments.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in cybersecurity engineering, strong SIEM content creation skills, scripting ability, and excellent communication to support our clients and drive security maturity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in a cybersecurity engineering role.
• Experience with SIEM tools, especially Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Experience creating SIEM content: alerts, dashboards, reports.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• 2+ years with next-gen AV/EDR solutions.
• Scripting capabilities in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain multiple SIEM environments and onboard security tech.
• Deliver managed services to clients via SIEM-focused workflows.
• Provide technical leadership and configuration assistance.
• Develop security content: dashboards, alerts, reports.
• Create and maintain security policies, playbooks, and procedures.
• Advance SIEM maturity aligned with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot data-source and API interactions with SIEM tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate SIEM tasks and workflows.
• Collaborate with clients to address technical concerns and reporting.
• Document playbooks and runbooks for operations.
• Stay current on threats and obtain relevant certifications.
• Collaborate with teammates to design and implement innovative solutions.
