Sims Metal is seeking a Shredder Foreman to supervise outdoor operations at our Baltimore facility. You will lead the loading, sorting, processing, and transfer of recyclables, ensuring safe, efficient production and adherence to policies.

The role requires supervising teams, coordinating equipment usage, and maintaining accurate records. Strong safety focus and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in recycling, metal or related industry.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Supervise employees in receipt, handling, processing, and shipment of recyclables.
• Plan use of material handling equipment: conveyors, cranes, loaders, forklifts, trucks.
• Monitor workflow to meet productivity targets and quality standards.
• Maintain records for materials received, processed, and shipped.
• Ensure safety policies and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Communicate schedules and performance expectations to staff.
• Train and motivate employees on operational and safety goals.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and production records.
• Coordinate with other supervisors and departments.
• Identify hazards and report safety issues promptly.
