Job summary

Sims Metal is a global leader in metal recycling, seeking a Foreman to supervise outdoor facility activities. You will coordinate loading, unloading, sorting, and processing of recyclables, ensure safety compliance, and manage equipment like conveyors and cranes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of related industry experience preferred.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs loading, unloading, storing, transferring and processing of recyclables.
• Plans and allocates use of material handling equipment (conveyors, cranes, tractors, trucks).
• Keeps records of materials received and used.
• Inspects incoming materials and verifies invoices.
• Enforces safety regulations and reports hazards.
• Directs workers and assigns duties per job orders.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Coordinates with other supervisors for department activities.
• Reports near misses and HAZ ID’s.
