Job summary

MWR Academy Officer’s Club in New London, CT, is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker to perform a variety of kitchen and dining room tasks. You will set up counters and dining areas, serve food cafeteria- and family-style, brew coffee, and prepare fresh salads while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

The role requires basic reading and arithmetic, prior food service experience, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a food service facility.
• Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
• Ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions; perform simple arithmetic.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training.
• Physically able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining area and side service stands with hot and cold food.
• Serves food cafeteria-style and family-style; prepares coffee and salads.
• Cleans equipment and maintains dishwasher; handles waste disposal.
• Cleans dining tables; sweeps and mops floors; assists with unloading supplies.
• Follows safety regulations and reports hazards; may be assigned other duties.
