Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking Shore Tech/Security personnel in Juneau, AK to support security, safety, and guest services for the Alaska season.

You will work under supervision to provide facility security, guard and patrol premises, assist with medical emergencies, and maintain detailed records while upholding company policies and USCG regulations, delivering excellent customer service to guests and crew alike.

Qualifications

• Some college or equivalent certification is preferred.
• TWIC required or able to obtain.
• Alaska driver's license with clean driving record.
• Background check required prior to employment.
• EMT or advanced first aid certification preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility security and maintenance under supervision.
• Unarmed guarding and security rounds of premises.

Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision to provide facility security and maintenance.
• Provides unarmed guarding and patrolling of premises and security rounds.
• Assists with medical emergencies as necessary.
• Records information and prepares reports.
• Maintains records of security activities in the appropriate records and logs.
• Performs duties required by departmental supervision.

Requirements

• This job normally requires a level of knowledge in security service equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of some college or equivalent certification.
• Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
• Ability to secure a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) is required.
• A current, valid Alaska driver's license, with a clean driving record is required.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• EMT or advanced first aid certification and practical experience preferred.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all passengers, coworkers, visitors, ships' staff, and vendors.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

• Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while completing daily tasks.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to support and comply with facility security and USCG regulations.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
