Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II Non-DOT for its on-site shop in De Pere, WI. The role focuses on certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light repairs, and related tasks in a shop environment.

A successful candidate will perform advanced repairs under supervision, maintain safety standards, and support the team with diagnostic and repair work on trailer systems and components.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years' related experience; or 5 years in related field
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months
• OEM training and certifications preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce rules

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices at all times
• Independently determine parts needed and liaise with Parts Department
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist in end-of-day cleanup
• Diagnose, repair and maintain light, medium, and heavy trailer systems
• Work with Service Writer to assess customer needs and approvals on estimates
• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections in a shop setting
• Keep Shop assigned service trucks and conduct pre/post trip inspections
