Job summary

Covenant Logistics is hiring a Shop Lead in Missouri to perform repairs on class 8 equipment and to support shop administration under the shop foreman. The role includes overseeing repairs, ensuring adherence to policies, and coordinating with the service writer on additional repairs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. consistently and 95 lbs. frequently to mount tires.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to understand, read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop and stand for long periods.

The Shop Lead is responsible for performing repairs on class 8 equipment while supporting Shop Foreman is essential shop administration.

Responsibilities

While working as a mechanic:

• Perform repairs to equipment as assigned.
• Inspect equipment during the repair process to identify any needed additional repairs.
• Notify service writer of any found additional needed repairs.

While working as a foreman:

• Monitor equipment repairs as they’re being made to ensure best practices are being followed and repairs are progressing in a timely manner.
• Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed.
• Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to understand, communicate, read, and write the English language.
• Must have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and 95 lbs. on a frequent basis to mount tires.
• Must have physical ability to climb, bend and stoop.
• Must have physical ability to work while on feet at all times, ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must have tools to perform skills for this level

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
