Job summary

Keel is seeking a Liaison Engineer in the Goose Creek, SC area to bridge design engineering, manufacturing operations, and external suppliers. You will translate engineering intent into manufacturable shop-floor solutions while ensuring quality and compliance.

You will drive DFM improvements, manage MRB/ECR processes, provide on-the-floor troubleshooting, and coordinate with vendors and automation teams to keep production flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; shop floor support preferred.
• Proficiency with engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and quick response to technical issues.
• Experience with MRB, ECR processes, or design change workflows is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, production, and supplier teams.
• Experience with automation systems, robotics, or system integrations beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical bridge between design engineering, manufacturing operations, and external suppliers.
• Ensure engineering intent translates into manufacturable shop-floor solutions while maintaining quality and standards.
• Provide real-time troubleshooting to prevent production line stoppages.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability improvements and manage non-conformances.
• Interpret complex drawings and specifications for shop personnel and coordinate with suppliers.
• Collaborate with external vendors on material and component deviations.
• Work with automation and robotics teams to implement and optimize shop-floor technologies.
