Job summary

Keel is seeking a Liaison Engineer to bridge design engineering, manufacturing operations, and external suppliers. This role ensures engineering intent becomes manufacturable, maintains quality and production flow, and manages non-conformances to support reliable production.

The position emphasizes problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and experience with automation/robotics to improve shop-floor performance and tooling for future product revisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Manufacturing environment experience (shop floor support strongly preferred).
• proficiency in engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with quick response to technical issues.
• Experience with MRB, ECR processes, or design change workflows is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, production, and supplier teams.
• Experience with automation systems, robotics, or system integrations beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Disposition Non‑Conforming Material (MRB) decisions on the shop floor.
• Draft Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and manufacturing changes for approval.
• Provide real‑time on‑floor troubleshooting to avoid line stoppages.
• Feed shop‑floor feedback to design teams for DFM improvements.
• Interpret complex drawings/schematics to ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers when materials deviate from spec.
• Collaborate on automation/robotics initiatives across the shop floor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
