Job summary

Scheels in Billings, MT is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Retail Associate to help guests find shoes, stock shelves, and process returns. You will work closely with store teams to keep the footwear department organized and inviting.

This role requires a HS diploma or GED and 1–3 months of retail experience; you should be comfortable on your feet, open to varied hours, including evenings and weekends, and ready to provide a warm, helpful customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months of related retail/sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively retrieve shoes from back stocks and transport them to the staging area for sales associates.
• Process unpurchased items and customer returns to their correct locations while maintaining an organized work environment to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Assist in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth shoe departments as needed.
• Proactively engage customers with a warm, welcoming demeanor and offer immediate assistance.
• Ensure all necessary technology and devices are prepped and functional prior to the start of each shift.
• Partner closely with Specialty Shop Managers to identify and address urgent department needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers and team members.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across all levers of the organization.
• The ability to perform basic calculations.
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
