Job summary

West Fraser in South Carolina is seeking a Shipping Technician to support the Shipping department with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency while assisting production teams.

You will be trained in forklift operations, manage inbound and outbound documentation, and help maintain accurate loading records and packing standards. This role emphasizes clear communication with the Shipping Supervisor and adherence to mill loading procedures.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience loading trucks and/or railcars is required.
• Experience working a warehouse environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of Fork Trucks.
• Extensive knowledge of mill travel routes for shipping and production.
• Housekeeping in the shipping end.
• Communicate shipping issues to Shipping Supervisor.
• Isolate non-conforming goods for rework.
• Accurate unit identification.
• Initial inbound sheets and bill of ladings of accurate number of units loaded and recordkeeping.
• Complete shift paperwork on time.
• Execute proper pattern loading for flatbed trailers, vans and railcars with approved packaging as required by mill loading standard.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Technician is responsible for performing assigned tasks in the Shipping department. This position supports production process improvements and the production teams with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (main functions)
