Job summary

Columbia River Nitrogen LLC in Deer Island, OR is seeking a hands-on loader/operator to manage loading schedules for chemicals and related products. You will operate mobile equipment, maintain safety standards, and coordinate with teams to ensure accurate inventories and safe, efficient shipments.

The role requires lifting 50-pound bags, outdoor work, potential overtime, nights and weekends, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain timely and accurate product loading schedules for maximum return on investment, product quality, and safety. Suggest improvements to maximize productivity, efficiency and environmentally enhance shipping operations.
• Maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Perform diversified loading for shipment of specialized product orders.
• Operation of mobile equipment, conveyors and other assigned equipment. Maintain certification for operation of industrial trucks.
• Recognize the need for repair work and perform such work on own initiative within limitations of ability and time available or initiate work requests.
• Recognize abnormal operation of equipment and take corrective action according to general instructions.
• Basic mathematic skills to calculate accurate inventories and adjustments of products and chemicals, read and write accurate logbook information as necessary. Must be able to read and comprehend all operating and training instructions and record operating data.
• Coordinate activities with other personnel performing related functions and assist as appropriate.
• Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area and maintain emergency response skills.
