Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Shipping Technician to support the Shipping Supervisor in the United States. The role emphasizes the safe operation of forklifts, load pattern accuracy, and meticulous recordkeeping to ensure efficient outbound shipments.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of loading trucks or railcars and a high school diploma or GED, with prior warehouse experience preferred. Responsibilities include timely paperwork and clear communication of shipping issues.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience loading trucks and/or railcars is required.
• Experience working a warehouse environment is helpful.
• Ability to maintain all equipment in assigned areas.
• Computer hardware knowledge or can be trained.
• Ability to work independently.

• Housekeeping in the shipping end.

• Execute proper pattern loading for flatbed trailers, vans and railcars with approved packaging as required by mill loading standard.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to theShipping Supervisor, the Shipping Technician is responsible for performing assigned tasks in the Shipping department. This position supports production process improvements and the production teams with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (main functions)
