Job summary

Acuity Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support shipping operations in Des Plaines, IL. You will process shipments with UPS and FedEx, load trailers, and help keep pallets and packing procedures running smoothly.

You will work in a lean manufacturing environment with 5S principles, read manifests and packing lists, and maintain accurate system data while meeting hourly productivity goals. This role requires teamwork and basic computer skills, with a high school equivalency diploma as

Qualifications

• Follow all Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines, policies, rules and training.
• Basic math/reading comprehension aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret a manifest, packing list and complex shipping codes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Prior warehousing experience preferred, including lean manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Process shipments via UPS and FedEx and loading product into trailer.
• Process pallets systemically through LIDS, Scanning products into system.
• Weigh, measure, and label products.
• Processing boxes systematically through pack size and physically assemble.
• Package products, labelling and taping boxes.
• Breakdown of inbound pallets and systemic processing of receipts.
• Review quantity discrepancies and update system as needed.
• Wrap pallets utilizing wrap machine.
• Ensure labels left by distribution attendants are assigned to correct pallet.
• Put corner boards on product when appropriate.
• Move product to dock door when appropriate.
• Hit hour by hour productivity goal. Follow and maintain hour by hour board.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment ensuring 5S is followed.
• Other duties as assigned.
