Job summary

SPS North America in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate to deliver reliable mail and shipping/receiving services and to support the onsite business service center with timely processing of inbound and outbound items.

You will verify and record shipments, maintain shipping records, operate mail and packing equipment, load trucks or rail cars as needed, and provide courteous, 5‑star service to colleagues while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 1-2+ years prior work experience preferred.
• Ability to work assigned work hours determined by manager.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills.
• Current knowledge or ability to learn computer-based systems required for functions of position.

Responsibilities

• Provides 5-star customer service to all employees (in all forms of communication).
• Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and reports discrepancies.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
• Maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
• Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting.
