Shipping & Receiving Associate – Night Shift
Springfield, Missouri
As a Shipping & Receiving Associate at Vital Farms, you will work within our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and production facility to load and unload pasture‑raised eggs, paper goods, and other materials. This role at Egg Central Station (ECS) bridges the gap from local family farms to grocery stores. You’ll be on your feet during twelve‑hour shifts, moving, lifting, and driving forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners within an air‑conditioned and sunlight‑filled warehouse environment.
Shift Schedule
- Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
- Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
Work Hours
- Day Crew – 7 am to 7 pm
- Night Crew – 7 pm to 7 am
Pay Rate
- Day Crew – $20.25 per hour
- Night Crew – $20.25 per hour (+ $3.00 Shift Differential)
What You’ll Do
- Receive various orders, including eggs, paper goods, and materials using electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners for efficiency.
- Load trucks to ship orders to distribution centers and/or grocery retailers, focusing on customer satisfaction.
- Organize the finished goods area to accommodate the FIFO method of goods.
- Use the DSI scanning system to monitor movement of finished goods.
- Create an excellent customer experience for our drivers.
- Build pallets as needed for orders.
- Read and understand bills of lading and sales orders to ensure efficient product movement.
What You Bring to the Table
- 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
- Certified to operate a forklift or pallet jack.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English for safety reasons.
- Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time.
- Good manual dexterity working with hands to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions.
- Follow all personal safety and food safety requirements rigorously.
- Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards.
