Job summary

Vital Farms seeks a Processing Associate for the Day Shift at our ECS facility in Springfield to wash, sort, and pack pasture-raised eggs from family farms. You will stand for 12-hour shifts and move, lift, and load materials in a climate-controlled warehouse.

You will follow a 2‑2‑3 schedule, operate machinery, and perform quality checks to ensure eggs meet standards. English proficiency, basic math, and a safety-first mindset are required.

Qualifications

  • One year of work experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Speak, read, and write in English for safety and quality.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, and division.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, sort, and pack eggs in an egg production facility.
  • Follow a 12-hour shift schedule (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am).
  • Operate machinery and robots to load, sort, and pack eggs.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and ensure quality checks.
  • Inspect supplies and equipment for readiness; resolve issues as needed.

Job Overview

As a Processing Associate – Day Shift at Vital Farms, you will work in our Egg Central Station (ECS) manufacturing and production facility to wash, sort, and pack pasture‑raised eggs from our family farms. Your role bridges the gap between local family farms and grocery stores for our consumers. You will stand on your feet during each twelve‑hour shift, moving, lifting and loading materials in an air‑conditioned and sunlight‑filled warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Follow a 2‑2‑3 schedule: 2‑week cycle.
  • Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on.
  • Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off.
  • Work 12‑hour shifts: Day Crew (6 am‑6 pm) or Night Crew (6 pm‑6 am).
  • Operate machinery and robots to load, sort, and pack eggs.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions for optimal food production.
  • Ensure eggs meet standards through careful procedure adherence and quality checks.
  • Inspect supplies and equipment to confirm readiness for use.
  • Operate powered jacks to move supplies and product within the warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as required; remain flexible and resolve issues as they arise.
Requirements
  • Speak, read, and write in English for safety and food quality reasons.
  • At least one year of work experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Commitment to following all personal safety requirements rigorously.
  • Flexibility to execute additional duties and production tasks as needed.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, and basic division.
