Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate for the Day Shift at Egg Central Station (ECS). The role involves loading and unloading eggs and related supplies in a climate-controlled warehouse, operating forklifts and scanners, and ensuring timely delivery to distribution centers and grocery retailers.

The position requires at least 1 year of shipping/receiving experience, forklift or pallet jack certification, basic math, and fluency in English for safety.

Qualifications

• 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
• Certified to operate a forklift or pallet jack.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English for safety reasons.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods.
• Able to frequently lift and move up to 60 pounds.
• Must work safely in wet conditions and follow safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive various orders using pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners for efficiency.
• Load trucks to ship orders to distribution centers and grocery retailers, focusing on customer satisfaction.
• Organize finished goods area to accommodate FIFO handling.
• Use DSI scanning system to monitor movement of finished goods.
• Provide an excellent customer experience for drivers.
• Build pallets as needed for orders.
• Read and understand bill of lading and sales orders to ensure efficient product movement.

As a Shipping & Receiving Associate at Vital Farms, you will…

You will work within our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and production facility to load and unload our pasture‑raised eggs from our family farms. This role at Egg Central Station (ECS) is critical in bridging the gap from local family farms to grocery stores for our consumers. You’ll be on your feet during each twelve‑hour shift, moving, lifting, loading and working with an air‑conditioned and sunlight‑filled warehouse.

Shift Schedule

• Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
• Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off

Shift Times

• Day Crew – 7am to 7pm
• Night Crew – 7pm to 7am

Pay Rate

• Day Crew – $20.25 per hour
• Night Crew – $20.25 per hour (+ $3.00 Shift Differential)

What You’ll Do

• Receive various orders, including eggs, paper goods, and materials using electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners for efficiency.
• Load trucks to ship orders to distribution centers and/or grocery retailers, focusing on customer satisfaction.
• Organize finished goods area to accommodate the FIFO method of goods.
• Use DSI scanning system to monitor movement of finished goods.
• Provide an excellent customer experience for our drivers.
• Build pallets as needed for orders.
• Read and understand bill of lading and sales orders to ensure efficient product movement.

What You Bring to the Table

• 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
• Certified to operate a forklift or pallet jack.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English for safety reasons.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time.
• Good manual dexterity working with hands to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions.
• Follow all personal safety and food safety requirements rigorously.
• Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards.
• Other duties as required.
