Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Oklahoma seeks a Shipping Supervisor to lead the shipping team, schedule and coordinate shipments, and ensure accurate billing and inventory control. You will oversee hiring, training, and performance, driving a high-performing operation with a strong emphasis on safety and cost management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related field with 2+ years of leadership experience, forklift licenses, and proficiency with SAP, ADC, and Intermec Janus scanning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience required.
• Experience leading by training, coaching or mentoring staff or managing a project.
• Forklift, electric pallet jack and spotter licenses required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate a team.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends; travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Manage Shipping Operations: supervise loading, scheduling, prioritization of shipments and coordination with scheduling and corporate.
• Billing and Reporting: review shipments, invoicing, and reports on inventory adjustments.
• Inventory and Costs: track labor and pallet costs and adjust warehouse inventories as needed.
• Safety and Compliance: conduct weekly safety inspections and monitor forklift operation.
• Team Leadership: direct hourly shipping/receiving employees and address personnel coverage.
