Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Lincoln, NE. The role focuses on leading the shipping team, prioritizing shipments, and coordinating with scheduling and corporate offices to ensure accurate billing and inventory control.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain with 2+ years of experience, forklift licenses, and strong communication skills. Expect long hours, potential weekend work, and up to 5% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading a team or coaching staff.
• Forklift, electric pallet jack and spotter tractor licenses required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to train and mentor employees.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Manage Shipping Operations: supervise shipping crew, scheduling, prioritization, and coordination with scheduling and corporate.
• Billing and Reporting: review shipments, invoicing, and prepare reports on inventory adjustments.
• Inventory and Costs: track labor, pallet costs, Chep usage, and adjust inventories.
• Safety and Compliance: conduct weekly safety inspections, monitor forklift operations, and perform yard checks.
• Team Leadership: direct hourly employees and lead safety, quality, and department goals.
