Alaska Marine Lines is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Service department in Seattle, WA. The role supports customers with shipping needs via multiple channels and delivers exceptional service through timely communication and accuracy. This is a safety-sensitive position.

The candidate will handle quotes, bookings, and inquiries, coordinate with other departments, and assist with billing while maintaining strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service required.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer questions by phone, email, or in person regarding services, tools, and resources.
• Provide quotes to customers with estimated shipping costs.
• Provide bookings to customers to receive items for shipping.
• Research customer inquiries by coordinating with other departments or operating companies.
• Occasionally verify cargo information or obtain cargo measurements.
• Occasionally collect and scan bills of lading.
• Assist with receiving/processing bills of lading from drivers or customers.
• Assist with billing charges on customer invoices and collect payment over the phone.
