Job summary

The GBS Group is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer to support development, deployment, and maintenance of PLC-based control systems for US Navy ships. You will review drawings, participate in testing, and coordinate with cross-functional teams both locally and remotely.

Required is a 4-year degree in electrical engineering and 2+ years in PLC-based systems, with DoD clearance potential. Domestic travel up to 15% is expected, with full-time employment and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in PLC-based control systems, preferably Rockwell/Allen-Bradley.
• Experience with Navy ship systems is a plus.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Review and update as-built ship drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Design and develop PLC-based control systems for ships.
• Coordinate work with on-site and remote team members.
• Perform system testing in lab environments and aboard ships.
• Communicate design and installation plans with yards and ship’s force.
• Maintain knowledge of engineering practices and safety guidelines.
• Travel domestically up to 15% as required.
