Job summary

Data Intelligence LLC seeks a Senior PLC & Machinery Controls Engineer for Naval and Maritime Systems to support USCG and U.S. Navy programs. You will design, develop, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and sustain PLC-based machinery control systems for complex shipboard platforms.

The role requires leadership, lifecycle support, and collaboration with government partners, shipbuilders, and defense-industry teams to deliver reliable, safe control architectures from lab to onboard operations.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
10+ years of professional experience in control systems engineering.
7+ years developing, testing, integrating, and installing PLC software using Rockwell and Siemens tools.
7+ years troubleshooting PLC-based machinery control systems.
5+ years in lead/technical leadership roles.
3+ years creating Ship Change Documents (SCDs) or equivalent docs.
Ability to work in shipboard, lab, and industrial settings.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and sustain PLC-based machinery control systems for naval and maritime platforms.
Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action development for PLC issues.
Develop, modify, test, debug, and validate PLC software using Rockwell and Siemens tools.
Lead installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and verification onboard vessels and in labs.
Coordinate activities across controls, electrical, software, mechanical, systems, shipboard, and program teams.
Maintain shipboard documentation: SCDs, test procedures, system design docs, engineering change docs.
Support lifecycle activities from development to sustainment and upgrade testing.
