Job summary

Noblis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support US Navy ship programs, focusing on oil pollution abatement in wastewater systems. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, and be eligible for a DoD SECRET

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine or Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance and testing.
• US citizen with an active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience with equipment design principles.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts.
• Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), bill of materials.
• Familiarity with military specifications for technical design.

Responsibilities

• Creating mechanical designs and drawings.
• Writing precise calculations.
• Creating and testing prototypes for functionality.
• Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality.
• Preparing reports and documentation for leadership.
• Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements.
