Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanic-3 to diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain CNSL shipboard MHE and SMSE equipment. The role focuses on diagnostics, repair recommendations, and testing to meet specifications and keep naval assets ready.

The position requires mid-level expertise, adherence to NAVSUP P 538, and the ability to work in shipyard environments. Travel may be necessary; training and tools are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade School with 4 years of related experience, incl. systems expertise.
• Strong mechanical background including hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read OEM manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, NAVSUP P 538 requirements.
• Ability to obtain an MHE operator license under NAVSUP P 538.
• Ability to perform corrective actions, replace faulty components, and return systems to service with minimal downtime.
• Familiarity with OSHA, shipyard, and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for CNSL MHE and SMSE.
• Deliver service life extension maintenance and repair, including OEM manuals and new parts installation.
• Ensure equipment safety, reliability, EMI compliance, proper configuration, and availability for Navy readiness.
