Job summary

HII Mission Technologies Corp. (HII-MTC) in Newport News, VA, seeks an experienced Technical SME specializing in shipboard hull and structural systems to support engineering, design, maintenance, and integration under Navy contracts aboard CVN 74 and CVN 75.

The SME provides specialized technical and operational expertise aboard ships and at off-site facilities. Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, conducting inspections, ensuring NAVSEA standards compliance, documenting

Qualifications

• High School education or Trade School with related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of conducting or supporting jobsite QA inspections.
• Strong understanding of NAVSEA drawing interpretation and Navy standards.

Responsibilities

• Meet with sub-contractors daily to ensure proper work controls and schedules.
• Monitor subcontractors’ work and provide daily status updates.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with manuals, procedures and quality standards.
• Interface with subcontractors to clarify expectations and schedule requirements.
• Write and track Condition Reports (CRs) and support CARs and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure adherence to drawing changes, SCDs, and Formal Work Package (FWP) standards.
