Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) seeks a Marine Electrician to join the SEMAT Hawaii team in Pearl Harbor, HI. The role focuses on electrical maintenance and training for shipboard personnel across engineering systems on USN surface ships.

Applicants should have shipboard electrical maintenance experience, be able to read ship drawings, and provide their own hand tools. The position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Confidential security clearance and physically work in an industrial ship

Qualifications

• High School education or trade school with 6+ years related experience.
• Must have shipboard electrical maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment and system ship drawings and manuals.
• Competent in the use of electrical equipment and tools for ship repairs.
• Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance and training to assist shipboard personnel in operation, maintenance and repair of engineering systems on USN ships.
• Master understanding of production and processes.
• Interface with customers and manage subcontractors; provide work directions to others.
• May provide direction and lead others; may manage multiple jobs.
• Complete complex and non-routine tasks and develop technical documents and reports.
• Schedule, report and brief customers and senior management; perform quality inspections.
