Job summary

Mission Technologies Newport News, a division of HII, seeks an Engineering Technician 3 for CVN 75 Work Control. The role provides direct technical support to engineers and work control personnel involved with mechanical and electrical systems aboard ship, including data gathering, analysis, and documentation updates.

Onsite in Norfolk/Newport News, VA with backshift support as needed. Requires DoD Secret clearance, an associate or 2-year technical degree (or HS diploma with experience), and

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2-year technical degree plus 3 years experience; or HS diploma with 5 years DoD/USN experience.
• Knowledge of Work Control processes, including WAFs and Work Permits.
• Understanding of shipboard mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical support to engineers and work control personnel for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Gather, maintain, format, and analyze technical data related to testing, maintenance, and design changes.
• Prepare and update engineering documentation, reports, and drawings such as flow charts and schematics.
