Job summary

Phoenix Group of Virginia, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Tech III (Shipboard Electronics) in Newport News, VA. The role requires extensive CVN combat systems and interior communications experience, with a strong shipyard background, to support RCOH activities.

You will mentor sailors and coordinate with Ship’s Force, shipyard, and repair teams to troubleshoot complex issues. The ideal candidate has senior Navy technician experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) and a

Qualifications

8+ years of CVN Combat Systems or Interior Communications maintenance and shipyard experience.
Senior Navy technician (E-5 to E-9, CWO, or LDO) background preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Be embedded with Ship’s Force and act as a trusted advisor for CVN Combat Systems, IC, and electrical maintenance.
Provide immediate technical assistance to eliminate schedule risks and restore systems.
Mentor and train Combat Systems, IC, and electrical personnel on best practices for system restoration and testing.
Identify discrepancies in installations, wiring, and testing to prevent production work stoppages.
Collaborate with Ship’s Force to align with RCOH milestones and modernization goals.
