Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) – Mission Technologies in Newport News, VA – is seeking Engineering Technicians at multiple levels to support test engineering projects within Newport News Shipbuilding. You will provide technical support, manage data, and produce engineering documentation in a fast-paced environment.

All levels require DoD/USN experience or equivalent and eligibility for a Confidential security clearance.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: ET2 – Associates Degree or 2 year technical degree and 1 year related experience or HS diploma plus 3 years DoD/USN experience.
• ET3 – Associates Degree or 2 year technical degree and 3 years experience or HS diploma plus 5 years DoD/USN experience.
• ET4 – Associate Degree and 6 years related or HS diploma plus 8 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data such as lab results and design changes.
• Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics).
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations and preliminary analyses of data per guidelines.
• Uses PC for analyses and documentation development.
• May conduct tests and record data to aid engineering evaluation.

Education

Associates Degree or 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related (DoD/USN) experience.
