Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for an Advanced Weapons Elevator Technician (Engineering Technician 3) in Newport News, VA. This role focuses on technical support for the CVN 78 Class Advanced Weapons Elevators requiring a technical degree and relevant experience.

The candidate will perform various engineering tasks, maintain technical documentation, and must obtain a secret security clearance. Best-in-class benefits including medical, dental, and tuition reimbursement are offered.

Qualifications

• AA or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience.
• Candidate must have the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
• Prior experience working with advanced weapons systems.
• Comfortable working a second-shift schedule (3 PM–11 PM).
• Prior experience working on aircraft carriers.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Produces engineering documentation, reports, and drawings.
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations and analyses.
• Conducts tests and records data to assist with engineering evaluation.

Skills

Ability to obtain secret security clearance

Experience working with advanced weapons systems

Comfortable working second-shift schedule

Experience working on aircraft carriers

Education

AA or 2-year technical degree

High School + 5 years related experience
