Job summary

The Walt Disney Company, owner of Disney Cruise Line, seeks an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to lead shipboard guest room and public area cleaning operations, coordinate with other department managers, and mentor housekeeping crew to deliver Disney’s high standards at sea.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, you will conduct inspections, ensure USPH and Coast Guard compliance, manage schedules, and handle guest issues promptly while fostering a safe, inclusive onboard culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years housekeeping leadership experience on ships or 200+ room 5 Star hotel within the last 4 Years.
• Proven experience leading a diverse team.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to make decisions.
• Strong partnering, collaboration and relationship skills with various Line of Business/Departmental Leaders.
• Strong Computer skills with Microsoft Programs and PC-based databases.
• Knowledge of maintenance reporting cloud-based systems and hotel integration, with openness to learning new ones.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigned area/location including but not limited to: Guest Staterooms/Crew Accommodations, Night Operations, Public Areas, Deck, Wardrobe, Floor Care.
• Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance of ship.
• Conduct daily area inspections and confirm compliance with Show quality, maintenance, and USPH standards.
• Ensure MLC 2006 compliance/accurate time recording in company systems.
• Oversee scheduling and work assignments for the team.
• Handle and resolve guest issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct daily inspections including Stateroom Pest Management and quarterly maintenance inspections.
• Ensure all housekeeping areas meet USPH and Coast Guard regulations.
• Oversee use of housekeeping equipment and chemicals.
• Supervise luggage operations on embark/debark days.
• Lead department meetings and pre-shift briefings.
• Timely communication, documentation, and follow-up on guest issues.
• Provide leadership and development to the team.
