Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks a Cruise & Excursions Director to lead on-board guest experiences and ashore excursions. This role blends dynamic program development, staff coordination and vendor communication to ensure memorable voyages on US‑flag ships.

Responsibilities include coordinating entertainment, guiding guests through regional ports, and presenting operational updates. The position demands long hours, high energy, and polished presentation skills aboard a busy itinerary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, or event management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Enthusiasm, confidence, and a can‑do attitude.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Strong social skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Strong sense of production and presentation.
• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment required.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Geography preferred.
• TWIC credential required.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and execute engaging entertainment, enrichment and activity programs.
• Create the Ship to Shore communication flow.
• Effectively communicate to guests via daily program and PA announcements.
• Be well‑versed in cruising region, ports of call and excursions.
• Confirm and adjust shore excursions, explorations and transfers.
• Greet guests and accompany on daily excursions as brand ambassador.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors, guides and operators.
• Accommodate guest requests and personalized arrangements.
• Socialize with guests during meals and events.
• Make daily announcements as the voice of the cruise.
