Job summary

American Cruise Lines, the largest USA-flagged cruise line, seeks a Cruise & Excursions Director for the 2026 season. The role blends on-board guest engagement with shore excursion management across voyages on American ships.

You will lead entertainment, coordinate destinations, and maintain strong guest relations, reporting to the Hotel General Manager. Expect long hours, high energy, and a focus on premium guest experiences aboard US-flagged vessels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, or event management preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Enthusiasm, confidence, and a can‑do attitude.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Strong social skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. geography preferred.
• TWIC required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and execute engaging entertainment, enrichment and activity programs that enhance guest experience.
• Create the Ship to Shore program and coordinate communications.
• Communicate with guests via daily program, PA system, and personal interactions.
• Be well-versed in cruising regions, ports of call, and excursions.
• Confirm and adjust all shore excursions, explorations and transfers.
• Greet guests depart/return from shore excursions and accompany them ashore.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors and operators for timely service.
• Accommodate special guest requests and personalize arrangements.
• Engage guests during meals, cocktail hours, and events.
• Prepare and update briefing materials and handover docs.
• Assist in safety briefings with the Captain.
