Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking a Cruise & Excursions Director to lead guest experiences on our 2026 voyages. You will plan and execute onboard entertainment, manage shore excursions, and coordinate with vendors to ensure premium service.

This role blends public speaking, event production, and team leadership in a dynamic shipboard setting. The ideal candidate will have a hospitality or event management background, strong presentation skills, and comfort with travel and long hours aboard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, tourism, or event management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Enthusiasm, confidence, and a can-do attitude.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Strong social skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Strong sense of production and presentation.
• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment required.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Geography preferred.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and execute engaging entertainment, enrichment and activity programs for guests.
• Create the Ship to Shore communications and programs.
• Communicate effectively to guests via daily program, PA system and personal interactions.
• Be well-versed in cruising region, ports of call and excursions.
• Confirm and manage all shore excursions and transfers.
• Greet guests at shore excursions departures and returns.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors and operators to ensure timely service.
• Accommodate highly personalized guest requests and arrangements.
• Engage guests during meals, drinks and events.
• Deliver detailed briefings to guests at the start of each cruise.
• Assist in safety briefings with the Captain.
• Prepare lounges for activities and shows (layout, AV, music).
• Meet with entertainers and guest speakers at cruise start.
• Oversee excursion inventory and invoicing; manage system hardware.
• Promote on-board sales and brand loyalty.
• Report status of cruises to Home Office.
