Job summary

Philz Coffee is seeking a Team Lead (Shift Supervisor) in Oakland to supervise shifts and support a vibrant team of Baristas. You will model exceptional service, contribute to a welcoming environment, and embody Philz Core Values: Obsess Over Customers & Team, In Pursuit of Better, and Be Kind & Keep it Real.

Ideal candidates have prior supervisory experience in fast-paced food and beverage settings and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment is preferred.
• If you have a passion for people and a willingness to learn, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of shifts and support a dynamic team of Baristas.
• Motivate and inspire team members to deliver superior service and drink quality.
• Develop relationships with customers and the local community.
• Assess performance of team members, including service and drink quality.
• Manage shifts, cover called-out shifts, and oversee breaks/lunches.
• Report team performance to Store Leaders and other Shift Supervisors to ensure consistency.
• Assist with promotions and new hires through in-store training.
• Support operations and administrative duties for the store.
• Lead in implementing and maintaining Philz safety programs.
