Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing duties as directed to gain supervisory experience, completing basic management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees become eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the store management team by driving store execution and performance, focusing on excellent customer service, and leading store staff in the absence of a manager, ensuring smooth operations and completion of opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and crews
• Supervise store staff through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical and computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
